Desiraju Hanumanta Rao's prose rendering with embedded explanatory notes

The source cites the Padma Purana on what happens as Rama takes the bow from Parashurama's hands: iti uktvaa devii vaishnavyaa shaktyaa tad gataayaa saha | jagraaha vaishnavam chaapam vinayena cha lilaya -- Rama sportively and respectfully draws away Vishnu's own essential nature from Parashurama along with the bow itself, since, as the source puts it, two swords cannot share one sheath: Parashurama's incarnation must yield as Dasharatha's Rama's begins in earnest.
